The actorpundit on Bravo’s Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce

Grey Poupon’s Don’t Worry Dijon wants a taste of Olivia Wilde’s salad-dressing drama.

The actor/producer/talk show host/pundit is in town for Bravo’s new series Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, and he’s taking in the show at his apartment the first night. He had dinner with co-hosts Tinsley Mortimer and Emily Ratajkowski, and was kind enough to walk us around town. GADDDDDD is at 30W 35th St, in SoHo.

The first thing he says about the show is: “You know that thing I’m doing on Twitter, for which I’m going to be nominated for an Oscar? This is like that show but a little more highfalutin.”

We get a tour of the GGSGD set, and he talks about his time shooting the pilot, which he describes as “The Office meets The Real Housewives of New Jersey.” He was an executive producer on the show, and says: “Everyone that’s ever done an episode of Housewives has done it like 10 times. I am like, ‘Why do I still feel like I need to do another one?'”

But he had a successful premiere, which put him on a more prominent show. “The pilot was the most watched episode of a show since Modern Family Season 6. We went in at number one, and within the first couple of episodes we went up to five [ratings]. We were number two or three for the entire first two or three weeks. And the first week of episode three that the ratings went up [in Nielsen Media Research], we were number one, even though we had a lower-than-average episode.”

There are many different challenges when making a show like that: “There are three things that make the first season of Girlfriends’s Guide to Divorce so different, and we call them the Three Fucks: (1) The fact that it’s a half-hour reality series with a female audience, (2) the fact that it’s scripted, and (3) the fact that it’s a comedy.” He says, “…that last part has made me feel like as long as I get to do comedy I’m fine
