Cooler temperatures — and maybe some showers — headed to SoCal this weekend as temperatures in the middle of the Southern California Valley range from 88 degrees at Palm Springs to 93 degrees at Palm Springs Gardens.
The National Weather Service issued a “warm and sunny” advisory late Saturday morning that was in effect until 8:59 p.m.
Temperatures in La Canada Flintridge are expected to hit 88 during the upcoming day, which would be the hottest temperature of the season for La Canada.
A high of 92 was recorded at Lake Hughes in April, making it the highest temperature of the season for that area.
Satellite images show the temperature is continuing to climb. It’s projected to be 90 degrees at Lake Hughes by Sunday.
On the south side of the Los Angeles area, Palm Desert rose to 92 degrees on Saturday and will reach 90 degrees on Sunday.
The high temperature will be 85 degrees in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday.
A higher-than-usual amount of rain will saturate the area Sunday morning. The National Weather Service has issued a slight chance of showers for most of the day.
On the north side of the San Gabriel Valley, the average high Sunday morning will be 90 degrees before some relief on a cold front arrives on Monday.
The high temperature for Monday morning should be in the mid-80s, with a slight chance of showers. A slight chance of showers is also in for Tuesday morning.
Monday’s high temperature is expected to be 80 degrees.
In the Santa Clarita Valley, the high will be in the mid to high 80s Monday morning.
The warmest day on record for San Bernardino National Forest is on March 27 when 98 degrees was recorded at Angeles National Forest in San Bernardino County.
The National Weather Service estimates that the National Weather Service has issued a high of 95 degrees at the San Bernardino National Forest and the high for the Los Angeles area is expected to be in the high 70s, but could get up to 75 degrees.
In Orange County, Los Angeles will reach 88 degrees on Wednesday and 88 degrees on Thursday. The high for Wednesday in Los Angeles will be in the upper 80s.
Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 86 at the beaches on Thursday, 86 at Disneyland on Friday and 86 at Disney California Adventure on Sunday.
