‘Enola Holmes’ Is a Ghost

'Enola Holmes' Is a Ghost

Review: Millie Bobby Brown returns in ‘Enola Holmes 2’ and Daniel Radcliffe gets ‘Weird’ with ‘Ascendancy’

The last time we saw Daniel Radcliffe, he was getting some very, very weird on the internet. That’s probably what happened to him in ‘Ascendancy,’ which is a sequel to the equally weird ‘Ascendancy’ – the story of a teenage hero on a mission to fix his own broken body. But while ‘Ascendancy’ was a silly misfire, ‘Enola Holmes,’ the sequel to ‘Enola Holmes and the Case of the Missing Book,’ is actually just kind of really good.

Daniel Radcliffe might not have been making any new ‘Harry Potter’ movies (see, this is what we do when we’re ‘in the mood’), but there’s still room for him to shine in the world of teen supernatural horror. The only way to find out is to watch the film, so we’re giving it a go.

We first learned about Daniel Radcliffe from the trailer for ‘Ascendancy,’ where he was playing a very, really bad boy with a deep secret. We don’t know what that secret is except that it’s dark, it’s mysterious and it has a really really good reason for being hidden. And just in case there was any doubt, that reason is going to be pretty darn good.

It’s a sequel to the equally weird ‘Ascendancy’ – the story of a teenage hero on a mission to fix his own broken body. Unfortunately, ‘Ascendancy’ was a silly misfire, and we have a feeling that ‘Enola Holmes’ will be similarly terrible. But that’s okay. We’re still trying to find a good reason to keep this movie in theaters.

Since the whole point of ‘Ascendancy’ seemed to be getting rid of Daniel Radcliffe’s character, the new film’s title is even more bizarre. Enola Holmes is a ghost, and she’s basically going to haunt the filmmakers to death with a ghost. Or is she? Because Enola is not a ghost – she’s more like a little girl who’s very excited to find out that her dad is a ghost. So she has to find her way back to the living world and face the consequences
